Modern Chiropractic For Adults

30-60 year olds: You are my favorite ages to treat because this is the time that life is the hardest and most stressful on our bodies. Having kids, managing money, navigating relationships, dealing with death are all big milestones many of us go through. Its important to understand all the different types of stress we encounter, but more importantly, what that stress does to the body and how to make our bodies better equipped to handle all the stress.

There are 3 types of stress. Physical stress, chemical stress, and emotional stress. Physical stress like birth, playing sports, prolonged sitting and carrying heavy loads. Chemical stress-caffeine, sugar, processed/fast food, dehydration, cleaners, soaps, detergents. Emotional stress-work, poor life-work balance, relationships, health, bills, death. So.... much.... stress....every.....single....day!! Stress affects the entire body and it is cumulative, meaning the 10 years of sports you played, or the big fall you had off your ATV when you were 8, or the car accident when you were 23 are all still programmed in your body and nervous system.

Your nervous system (brain, spinal cord and 31 spinal nerves) are what processes stress. If your nervous system cannot handle all the stress coming in, your spine can shift out of place, disrupting the communication from the brain to the body. If the stress is too much and goes for too long, that's when symptoms start. Common symptoms like headaches, dizziness, anxiety, poor sleep, heartburn, acid relux, digestive issues, infertility and of course pain is what your age often experiences.

Chiropractors do not treat your symptom. Symptoms are just a sign that the brain and body are not communicating at 100%. Chiropractors perform a spinal exam, to see if your 24 spinal segments are aligned and moving properly, and a nervous system scan, to see if the brain and body's communication is disrupted, and not only that, exactly where and how long that disruption has been there! From there, we recommend what needs to be done to fix the misalignment(s). In most cases, a series of specific and gentle adjusting is needed to fix the alignment(s) and once fixed, symptoms diminish or go away completely because the communication from the brain to the body is now open so the body can heal and function how it was meant to!
